Frigidaire FAQG7077KA

Companion Washer - FAFW3577KA Review

Dryer Pros and Cons
Drying Offers the capability to sanitize items that can't be easily washed such as pillows and stuffed animals. Reduces common household bacteria and allergens using a higher heat setting.
Cycles Number of cycles and options is 25% lower than average and ranks in the bottom 15% of new dryers for FAIR program selection and flexibility. Fewer cycles sometimes makes it harder to meet your fabric care needs.
Drum Designed with a stainless steel dryer drum that is more durable than porcelain or plastic. Stainless steel resists odor absorption or discoloration and reduces the amount of static build-up in your clothing.
Capacity Internal capacity of the FAQG7077KA dryer is about average for a new dryer. Dryers range in size from a minimum of about 3.5 cu ft to a maximum of about 9.0 cu ft. The average size is about 7.2 cu ft.
Sensor Uses a moisture sensor to measure the water content of clothing as it tumbles, and automatically shuts-off the cycle when dry. Prevents clothing from being damaged by overheating and saves on energy costs.
Price Price per cubic foot is 3% lower than average and ranks in the top 45% of new clothes dryers for BETTER affordability. Based on the MSRP, each cubic foot costs about $4 less than the average new dryer.

Performance Ratings
5 Settings - Provides an ample number of temperature settings to select from. It's important to match the heat level to the type of fabric being laundered; helps prevent damage and alleviate wrinkles.
No Steam Cycles - Does not have the ability to generate steam and refresh lightly worn garments, or remove the wrinkles from clothing. About 60% of new dryers on the market now include a steam cycle.
Sanitize Cycle - Sanitizes items with a high-temp cycle that kills many forms of household bacteria or allergens. Especially useful for stuffed animals, pillows, and other non-washable items. NSF Certified.
MSRP $1019 - Manufacturer's Price (MSRP) is 8% lower than average and ranks in the top 40% of new clothes dryers for BETTER overall price. You should also consider the Frigidaire FAQG7077KA cost per cubic foot.
Warranty Frigidaire 1-Year Parts, 1-Year Labor - Industry standard warranty for clothes dryers. A few manufacturers offer a two-year warranty on parts, but dryer warranties are generally not as good as washers.

Convenience Ratings
Stackable Stackable - Like most new front-load matching dryers, this model can be stacked vertically with a washer to save space, and allows one unit to be accessed comfortably at shoulder level. Great for small rooms.
Reversible Door - The Frigidaire FAQG7077KA dryer door is flexible and can be switched to open from right-to-left (with a washer sitting on the right side), or left-to-right (with a washer sitting on the left side).
Drum Light - Includes an internal light that automatically switches on when the dryer door opens. Almost all new dryers come equipped with this nearly essential feature so you can see to unload your clothes.
No Filter Indicator - There is no visual reminder on the FAQG7077KA to change the lint filter. Most of us are remiss in this area and a clogged filter light is very helpful. Available on about 50% of new dryers.
Dryer Rack Included - Dryer racks allow you to dry items that shouldn't be tumbled such as shoes, ball caps, sweaters, and stuffed animals. Simply place the rack inside the dryer for tumble-free drying.
Venting Must Be Vented - Over 95% of new dryer models must be vented to the outside of your home with a duct running from your dryer. A few ventless models are available if an outside duct is not practical.

Control Ratings
Display LED Display - Just look at the dryer while you're working to see how much time is left before the clothes are finished. Includes a remaining cycle time display that provides time and sometimes program status.
Controls Rotary-Electronic - Designed with a modern digital control system that makes cycle or option selection easy and convenient. About 85% of new dryers are now fitted with highly-functional electronic controls.
No Delay Start - Can't be programmed to start at a later time. About 25% of new dryers have the convenience of drying the laundry at a time that best fits your schedule. More important for washers than dryers.
No Custom Cycle - Like most new dryers, you cannot program a custom cycle with temperature settings and options that you use the most. Convenient capability that's only available on about 30% of new dryers.
No Phone Diagnostics - You can't connect to the manufacturer's repair center and have dryer problems directly diagnosed over the phone. About 20% of new dryers have some type of phone connectivity.
Not Smart-Grid Capable - Cannot be hooked into the present or future local utility smart-grid and programmed to operate when utility rates are lower. Most new dryers are still not smart-grid capable.
